- Staff and wire reports

The Browns added another veteran to their depleted secondary when they signed 32-year-old safety Andrew Sendejo from the Vikings to a one-year contract.

The Browns added another veteran to their depleted secondary March 20 when they signed 32-yearold safety Andrew Sendejo to a one-year contract.

Sendejo is the ninth free agent signed by the Browns. They also traded a 2021 seventhround draft pick to the Broncos for fullback Andy Janovich.

General Manager Andrew Berry and Coach Kevin Stefanski both know Sendejo well. Sendejo, undrafted after four years at Rice, played with the Vikings from 2011-2018 while Stefanski was coaching on the offensive side of the ball.

Sendejo played out his contract with the Vikings and on March 18, 2019, signed a oneyear contract with Philadelphia. Berry was the Eagles vice president of football operations at the time.

The Eagles waived Sendejo on Nov. 5 last year. He played in nine games with Philadelphia with one start. He intercepted one pass and made 28 tackles.

The Vikings claimed Sendejo the day after the Eagles waived him. He played six games in 2019 with Minnesota and made two starts. He intercepted two passes and made 17 tackles.

GEORGIA’S EDWARDS TO ENTER NBA DRAFT» Georgia freshman Anthony

Edwards announced his plans to enter the NBA draft on Friday.

For his coach, Tom Crean, it was only a matter of when the news would come. He knew his top scorer was ready for the next level.

“It’s not like there was any pros or cons to it,” Crean said, adding that Edwards’ decision was “easy.”

“He’s pretty much assured he’s going to be very, very high in that draft, if not the highest,” Crean said.

Edwards’ spot in the next NBA draft was expected even before he played his first game for the Bulldogs. Edwards, from Holy Spirit Prep in Atlanta, was one of the nation’s top recruits last season. He has been regarded as one of the top draft prospects.

Edwards, a 6-foot-5 guard, led the nation’s freshmen with his average of 19.1 points per game. He added 5.2 rebounds.

“His desire to improve, his desire to work was incredible,” Crean said. “I think he’s got an incredible future.”

Edwards announced his decision with a statement on his Twitter feed.

“Georgia will always be my home but I am ready to take my game to the next level and have decided to declare for the 2020 NBA Draft,” Edwards wrote. “I hope I’ve made you all proud but the work is far from finished.”
