City postpones government meetings
City of Vermilion postponed and rescheduled a handful of upcoming government meetings due to a stay-at-home order from Gov. Mike DeWine.
The city contractors registration board and zoning board of appeals, both scheduled for March 24, are rescheduled for 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., April 28, respectively, according to a news release.
All applications received up to April 28 by the contractors board will be addressed.
The zoning board of appeals meeting will include all March 24 applicants and additional applications received by the next deadline date of April 10, the release said.
The historic design and review and planning commission meetings for April 1 are to 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., April 29 respectively.
Both of the boards only will review April 1 agenda applicants only, with the next deadline to be April 21 for the May 6 regular meeting, according to the release.
As for City Council meetings, the next regular meeting is rescheduled from April 6 to April 13 and will begin at 7 p.m. and will follow all committee meetings, which includes health and safety, finance, legislative, streets, building and grounds and utilities.
All meetings will take place at the Municipal Complex, directly behind the police station, 687 Decatur St. in Vermilion, the release said.
All meeting dates and times are subject to change upon the reassessment of the current novel coronavirus situation and future orders issued by DeWine.
Additionally, if there will not be a quorum for these meetings, municipal clerk Gwen Fisher will issue further notices via email, according to the release.
All other regularly scheduled city meetings will proceed until further notification.
Agendas for those meetings will be forthcoming a week prior to the meeting date, the release said.
