God is writing your happy ending

- Catherine Galasso Vigorito

On a news report, I heard about a sweet puppy that was born with just his two back legs.

The puppy was rescued by a dog shelter, and he was placed in a foster home. Without front legs,

the tiny pup was only able to get around by balancing on the front of his chest and nose. Then, he would push forward with his legs.

The circumstance looked fruitless for the animal. It seemed as if the puppy would have a limited future.

But instead of giving in to hopelessness and giving up, the pup’s foster mom decided to turn to the staff at a university’s innovation center. She explained the puppy’s dilemma to them, as she hoped they would be able to help the animal.

After careful evaluation, the center used a 3D printer to create a tiny wheelchair to replace the puppy’s front legs. With therapy, the pup learned how to get around, and he received the assistance needed to help him develop properly.

Beaming with joy, the pup’s foster mom explained to the news reporter that the innovation center promised to make the dog wheels for the rest of his life, so he could have a full, happy, active future. Now, healthy and capable, the dog is thriving.

As with this story, just because the puppy had a disability, a difficulty or struggle, it was not the end of his life. And if you have a challenge, it’s not the end for you either. There’s a fresh start up ahead. For, God is writing the best story for you with a happy ending.

Remember, you are strong; you’re capable; and you are a champion!

God knows the condition you are in at the moment. Don’t get distracted, criticize or be against yourself. Your breakthrough is almost here. Do not stop believing and give up on your dreams now. Behind the scenes, God is at work; and He is setting your miracle into motion.

Thus, step out in faith and trust, realizing how much strength you have to handle whatever you may be facing. Hold on to a firm mental image of yourself having the inner strength you need to overcome. Think positively about the outcome of your situation. And most importantly, pray, and rely on God’s strength to see you though successfully. Then, you will find, as the old adage says, “If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.”

Remember, it doesn’t matter how or where you start off, it is how you finish that counts!

I recall the Biblical story about David and Goliath. Everyone was afraid of Goliath, because he seemed unconquerable and invincible. When other people ran away in fear, young David didn’t concede. Instead, David took the needed action, in faith, regardless of limitations, uncertainties or discouraging conditions.

As David and Goliath confronted each other; there you have huge Goliath with his armor and shield and a small shepard boy, David, with only a sling shot and a pouch of stones. But David was not distracted, as he kept his focus on God. He was confident and believed God would give him the grace and the strength to defeat the giant. David then drew near the Philistine and said to him, “You come to me with sword, with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied ... This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand… and all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel ... it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.” (1 Samuel 17:45-47).

The narrative resumes, as Goliath moved in to destroy David. But David quickly ran out to meet him. Then, David reached into his bag and slung one of his stones at Goliath’s head. That small stone found its way through a hole in Goliath’s armor, hitting his forehead, and the giant fell to the ground.

So, let’s not retreat and run away from challenges. Alternatively, let’s step forth and go toward our challenges, as David did, and our giants (or in our case, our stumbling blocks) will fall. God has prepared the way for you, and He will help you overcome what is in your path.

Your God-given potential is tremendous, so get your motivation and enthusiasm back. Don’t lose your passion. Are you determined to succeed? Then, you can succeed. Know that when you are confronted with obstacles, they can be part of the course that leads you to your divine destiny.

In the Bible, Paul wrote these words to young Timothy: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7).

We can only see today, but our omnipresent God sees tomorrow. He wants us to have a fulfilled, victorious and blessed life. Hence, we must stay strong during trials, stand in faith, and move forward with confidence. In just the right time, we will see new doors opening, better opportunities and transformed aspirations. A reader wrote, “God has a plan for us – we just have to let Him lead the way. So, let us thank Him, knowing that there is no circumstance too big for our God.”

Accordingly, let us be a light to those around us and finish the race set before us. Whatever we need, let’s look to God; and He will graciously provide. Regardless of what your current situation may be, no matter what area of your life you want to turn around, God wants to bless you. He is getting ready to do extraordinary things in your life.

You’re closer to your goal than you think; you are almost there, so keep going. God is a God of completion. With Him, you are more than a conqueror. There are no unfair situations that you cannot prevail over, dreams that are too farfetched or difficulties that cannot be removed from your path.

God can carry you, as He has carried me, so many times, to become a “New You.”
