The Lorain Police Department will conduct a Selective Traffic Enforcement Program and an Impaired Driving Enforcement Program through a grant enforcement initiative during April.

The traffic grants were awarded to Lorain police for traffic safety and as an approach designed to create deterrence and change unlawful traffic behaviors, according to a news release from Lorain police.

Officers will concentrate on speed, seat belt and moving traffic violations along with impaired drivers during the enforcement periods.

Selective Traffic Enforcement Program hours are between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Impaired Driving Enforcement Program hours are between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. on selected dates per the grant.
