Fisher-Titus to resume some services
In close alignment with standards set forth by Gov. Mike DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health, Fisher-Titus will restart selected scheduled services that previously were closed or postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic.
“We appreciate the patience and understanding by the community and our patients as we took the measures needed to shift our priority to address the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Dr. Brent Burkey, president and CEO of Fisher-Titus. “As state and government guidance now allows, we are able to begin welcoming more patients back to our facilities to receive care for those elective procedures that had been postponed as well as additional non emergent care.”
In preparation, FisherTitus has reviewed availability of personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure ample supply, updated waiting room layouts to allow for physical distancing and performed continuous deep-cleaning and sanitization, said a news release.
“The safety of our patients and our employees is our No. 1 priority,” Burkey said. “We want the community to know that it is safe to be in the medical center and physician office locations. We have taken every precaution possible to ensure that we are protecting everyone’s health.”
Patients who were impacted by the postponement of procedures will be called to reschedule appointments.
Patients who have appointments are being asked to wear a mask; however, if they do not have one, a mask will be provided for them upon arrival, according to the release.
In addition, each patient will be screened for temperature and COVID-19 symptoms before services are provided, the release said.
Fisher-Titus asks individuals to continue proper hand hygiene and physical distancing.
Services opening back up include the Sleep Lab, outpatient lab for routine orders, diabetes education and Medical Nutrition Therapy, scheduled screening mammograms and DEXA procedures, outpatient therapy, cardiac rehab phase II, cardiovascular outpatient scheduled testing including echocardiograms and stress tests, pulmonary function testing, wellness visits for pediatrics and senior adults, and elective surgeries.
Visitor restrictions still remain active at the medical center and ambulatory locations.
