University Hospitals announced May 7 the rollout of the UH Healthy Restart Playbook — a comprehensive toolkit to help businesses emerge from the novel coronavirus crisis.
As businesses begin to think about reopening, they are looking for guidance as to how they can keep their workforce, facilities and customers safe, according to a news release from UH.
In response, UH created a playbook as a resource for reopening safely, which includes a website with important, up-to-date content; a downloadable version of the UH Healthy Restart Playbook; and an opportunity to ask UH experts for advice, the release said.
These resources aggregate key recommended best practices in alignment with current guidance from federal and state agencies.
Additionally, UH infectious disease experts provide context and simplification of the material to help employers as they navigate their reactivation implementation plans, arming businesses with strategies for a safe and healthy restart, the release said.
“The health and safety of our community is our highest priority,” said Dr. Joan Zoltanski, community reactivation director.
Zoltanski leads the UH Healthy Restart efforts. “All of us at UH have been working to care for our community, one patient at a time.
“Now that businesses and organizations are making plans to return to work, UH wants to be there to help. We know people are looking for trusted health information and our goal is to share what we have learned around COVID-19 in a way that is helpful to our local businesses.”
Designed with input from the local business community, the UH Healthy Restart Playbook includes information on what employers need to know, how to keep people safe, guidelines for environmental safety and recommendations for building trust with employees and customers.
Additionally, the “Ask an Expert” feature enables local businesses to submit questions to UH experts.
Answers to the most frequently asked items will get published online so all viewers may benefit from the guidance provided by UH.
Another key resource is the downloadable version of the UH Healthy Restart Playbook, which utilizes UH’s proprietary “Screen, Clean and 6 feet In Between” checklist, and is presented in an easy-to-understand format.
“Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, UH has been assisting the community through one-on-one consultation and town halls with infectious disease and safety experts, as well as providing information on best practices for staying safe,” said Dr. Dan Simon, chief clinical and scientific officer of University Hospitals. “The creation of the UH Healthy Restart Playbook is an extension of care for the local community, offering resources to help business and non-profit leaders jump-start their recoveries while taking proactive steps that help reduce the likelihood of a second surge.”
The UH materials and resources are intended for informational and educational purposes only, the release said.
