Footprint Tours Inc. to support Rolling for Awareness campaign

- Staff report

Hundreds of motorcoaches representing 3,000 motorcoach companies across the country and their 100,000 employees will roll into the nation’s capital May 13 to support awareness of the industry’s role as a critical component of the country’s infrastructure.

Footprint Tours Inc., a tour promoter located in Lorain and the bus charter company, Brecksville Road Transit Inc., support these efforts to showcase how the motorcoach industry moves America, according to a news release.

“This is our opportunity to support the motorcoach industry that means so much to the economic vitality of many small and large communities,” said Pat Morrisson of Footprint Tours. “Motorcoaches bring tourists to many areas and the passengers visit attractions, spend the night in local motels, eat in local restaurants and purchase items from local shops.

“Motorcoach groups bring positive economic impact to communities.”

David James, president of Brecksville Road Transit

Charter Service, has arranged for two of the company’s motorcoaches to participate in the event.

Under the banner, Rolling for Awareness, these vehicles will circle Washington as a moving rally, bearing messages that explain the importance of the industry and ask Congress and the White House to extend economic relief to motorcoach companies, the release said.

The event is jointly organized by the American Bus Association and the United Motorcoach Association.
