Truly Simple Boutique, a business that recently opened in downtown Wellington, offers a unique line of women’s clothing and apparel for customers.

“Considering what all is going on in the world, I thought it would be really quiet,” said Meegan Bischoff, owner of the business located at 134 W. Herrick Ave. “It’s been a nice opening that has given me time to build relationships.

“We opened (May 15) within three weeks. We got a call about the building being opened, we looked it up and signed the lease the next day. We were thinking about not opening until the end of the month.

“But, with everything starting to open up and people itching to get out ... it kind of gave that soft opening feel.”

Bischoff said she loves the space for her business.

“I like it, I actually like small and cozy,” she said. “I like that I’m on the end and there is parking across the road.

“There is also some space all the way around for folks to park and come from multiple directions. So, I feel it’s a pretty good spot.”

Bischoff said she loves being in Wellington.

“I graduated from Wellington (High School),” she said. “I left town for a while, because who doesn’t want to escape a small town, and this opportunity happened when my husband and I decided to move back.

“The community is super supportive; it’s a great place to be.”

Good selection

Bischoff said her shop offers a good selection of items.

“I have a women’s boutique, clothes and accessories,” she said. “My prices are affordable.

“They’re classic pieces and it’s versatile, so what you can wear to work, you can also change it up to wear on date night or a party. We offer a wide array.”

Bischoff said the community has been supportive of the business.

“So far, business has been good,” she said. “The community has been very welcoming.

“It really has a specific niche. There really isn’t any place in the area where you can stop in and shop, except for the big box stores.”

Bischoff said the store also is online.

“Currently, the website (www.trulysimpleboutique.com) is down, but it will be up soon,” she said.

“I’m also on Facebook and Instagram.”

Bischoff said her store is the only one that has the Katie Loxton purse line.

“The Katie Loxton purse line is unique,” she said. “You will not find it anywhere locally.

“You could find it in Medina, but you can’t find it anywhere in Lorain County.”

Bischoff said she loves owning her own business.

“I have some health complications that make it hard to do what I had envisioned I would be doing full time,” she said. “So, owning my own business allows me to make the schedule around my doctor’s appointments.

“It also allows me to sit when I need to, to take a break when I need to. But, I can work my own hours. It really works for me, and I’m doing something that I love.”
