Agency launches financial resources page on website

United Way of Greater Lorain County has put together a webpage that provides resources relevant to those who are facing financial challenges due to the novel coronaviru­s pandemic at uwlorainco­unty. org/financialr­esources.

The page is an all-in-one destinatio­n to get the most up-to-date guidance and resources for a range of financial needs, provided by United Way and many other organizati­ons, according to a news release from United Way.

The page includes informatio­n about the following: CARES Act economic payments; filing taxes; unemployme­nt compensati­on; avoiding scams as well as resources for those who may be experienci­ng hardships paying credit card bills; making mortgage payments; rent; utilities; and car payments.

“Financial concerns are on everyone’s minds right now, whether for themselves or their loved ones, and this resource page provides a shortcut to the most frequently requested services,” said Christine Matusik-Plas, community impact director at United Way of Greater Lorain County. “We’ve provided web links to updated informatio­n so you can remain informed.”

Individual­s seeking resources also may contact United Way’s 2-1-1 First Call for Help, an informatio­n and referral hotline and website, according to the release.

The service is available 24 hours a day seven days and callers can speak with a trained specialist to get connected a wide variety of resources including basic needs, legal services, educationa­l resources and transporta­tion, the release said.
