2 residents arrested following drug raid
Two Columbia Station residents are facing felony charges following a drug raid by the Sheriff’s Office.
Two Columbia Station residents are facing felony charges following a drug raid June 19 by the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force, along with assistance from the United States Drug Enforcement Administration, executed a search warrant at 14471 Plum Creek Drive, according to a news release.
The search warrant execution was a result of an eight-month investigation by the County Drug Task
Force.
Bruce L. McKenzie, 45, and Ashley Nicole Smith, 30, each were charged with one count of trafficking in drugs, a fourth-degree felony, and were taken the Lorain County Jail.
McKenzie, Smith and three other individuals were located within and around the residence at the time of the search warrant execution.
During the search, deputies and officers found suspected methamphetamine and heroin along with numerous drug paraphernalia instruments used to ingest methamphetamine and heroin, according to the release.
Several of the residents located inside the residence on Plum Creek Drive also were present when a search warrant was executed at this same address in 2018 by the Lorain County Drug Task Force and the Ohio Adult Parole Authority, the release said.
Numerous drug paraphernalia items also were confiscated.
The Lorain County SWAT Team assisted in the search warrant.
Additional charges against McKenzie and Smith, along with the other individuals, may be filed upon the completion of laboratory results, the release said.
