Pinspiration in Avon is a place where creative expression is realized through a variety of different crafts and activities.

The business, which is an independently owned franchise located at 34970 Detroit Road, Suite 240, is the only one in Ohio.

“We cater to girls night out, families, just adults, just the kids….there is a little bit of something for everyone,” said Kristin Havanas, owner of the business. “We also have a wide range of pricing, so there is something here for you. We are a Pinterest-inspired studio, so a lot of it is what is trending. We have projects like the string art, acrylic pouring, the woodworking welcome signs...are all stuff that’s trending on Pinterest.”

Havanas said the business is new to the area.

“We just opened. I’m just shy of two months,” she said. “I wanted to bring something to the community where you could come in and enjoy your time, make memories and have fun with friends and family. I wanted to offer something where you could have an experience with people you care about.”

Havanas said Pinspiration does walk-ins and appointments online,” she said. “I encourage people, if it’s for a special occasion, to make an appointment to avoid them coming by when the studio is full. Due to social distancing, I would not be able to accommodate a walk-in if a certain number of people are already using the space.”

Havanas said the novel coronavirus has impacted the business in a big way.

“It’s definitely been challenging, we’re an eventbased studio, so capacity was cut down,” she said. “I can’t have as many events. I can’t have as many people in. I can’t have my grand opening. I would say 25 is capacity right now. That’s including spreading everyone out. We have all our employees wearing masks and we sanitize everything.”

Havanas said the business also has its Jackson Pollock-inspired Splatter Room.

“You can come in here, we suit you up and you can splatter paint all over,” she said. “We have music you can jam out to or play your own with Alexa set up. We have blacklights, so we have a glow add-on. The date night package for this is very popular; I serve chocolate and champagne. I’ve actually had couples propose here. So it’s just a very, very fun place. It’s good for someone in the family that may not want to craft.”

Havanas said Pinspiration sets itself apart with its variety.

“You do not have to do the same craft,” she said. “If you are just looking for a time to enjoy yourself...I offer a wide range of projects. I have at least 50 variations. A lot of people don’t want to paint anymore...so I let folks come in and each do their own thing, and our prices are very reasonable. I can tell you, as an artist myself and an avid crafter, getting everything to do a craft is expensive. You could easily spend $70 to do an acrylic pour and you will have a lot of supplies left over. We offer you the experience and the supplies, so why go out and spend all that money in the craft store when you can just come here?”
