DeWine to address prep sports Aug. 18

-

High schools are going to have to wait a few more days to find out the status of fall sports in Ohio.

Gov. Mike DeWine said he will make a statement regarding the upcoming fall sports season next Tuesday — Aug. 18 — 10 days before the start of football season and right on the cusp of the start of soccer season.

“This is a decision made by parents,” said DeWine, perhaps tipping his hand on what he is going to announce next week. “This is a decision that’s going to be made by schools.”

“We’ve all seen him play this past season,” Dubois said about Korpisalo.

NCAA President Mark Emmert made the announcement in a video posted on Twitter, but it has been clear this was coming as more and more conference canceled fall sports seasons because of the coronvirus pandemic..
