Church presents its Fall Festival
Pumpkin-flavored goodies, fresh fair food, games and inflatables are just part of the Fall Festival Oct. 25.
Pumpkin-flavored goodies, fresh fair food, games and inflatables are just part of the Fall Festival from 2-6 p.m., Oct. 25, at Church on the North Coast, 4125 Leavitt Road in Lorain.
Pastor Troy Thompson said church members came together to prepare for the festival.
The congregation donated some of the funds for the festival, Thompson said.
“We try to host events like this for our community as often as possible,” he said.
During the novel coronavirus pandemic, Thompson said the community suffered from low spirits as well as the weight of the illness and its effects.
“I just want people to come and enjoy themselves,” he said. “We have lots of food, games and pumpkins to giveaway.”
There will be activities for children, including more than 12 games, three
local food vendors and at least five fair food trailers, Thompson said.
“There’s going to be classic foods like lemonade, elephant ears, Italian sausage and other fair foods,”
he said.
In an effort to show the community they’re appreciated, Thompson said he and the congregation strive to create events to bring the community together.
“We’re going to have a Thanksgiving meal to show the community that we want to give back, and show that we love them and want to serve them,” he said.
Although there’s still the danger of the pandemic, Thompson said they’re taking the greatest precautions to ensure everyone has a safe and fun time.
Masks and social distancing are strongly encouraged and there will be hand sanitizer available and frequent disinfecting.
To be able to host the event, Thompson said volunteers from all four Church on the North Coast campuses will volunteer.
“Our goal is to reveal Christ and let the community know there is hope and joy during this time,” he said.
Thompson said he’s excited and hopes families are looking forward to it as well.
“A lot of fall activities have been canceled in the community, and I wanted to present an opportunity of fun for everyone,” he said.
