Christophe­r Krupka ELYRIA CATHOLIC» SOCCER JUNIOR» GOALKEEPER

On the pitch: Elyria Catholic’s backup goalkeeper, Krupka played in the first half of Elyria Catholic’s game against Parma on Oct. 12and only allowed one goal in the Panthers’ 6-2win. Two days later, he started against Lakewood and had 17saves in a 2-2tie. Off the pitch: Krupka, a North Ridgeville resident, also kicks for the Panthers football team. An Eagle Scout, he’s also the co-manager of FCA Kids Farm in North Ridgeville, where he helps raise various farm animals along with an Nubian dairy goat herd.

Kenny Grobolsek BROOKSIDE » FOOTBALL JUNIOR » QUARTERBAC­K

On the field: In a 42-26win over Oberlin, he rushed 17times for 226yards from the RB and QB positions. He completed two passes for 25yards and scored four touchdowns. On defense, he had one solo tackle, six assists, two tackles for a loss and a fumble recovery for a total of 10plays.

Off the field: Grobolsek’s favorite sports memory is leading the Cardinals on a game-winning drive against Wellington earlier this season. He’s hoping to play football in college.

Katie Whitesell WESTLAKE » VOLLEYBALL JUNIOR» MIDDLE HITTER

On the court: Had 17kills and 16digs in Westlake’s come-from-behind win over Midview.

Off the court: Whitesell, who’s been playing volleyball since she was in third grade, enjoys studying math and science in school. Her favorite sports memory is the Cavaliers 2016Finals win over the Warriors, and her favorite sports teams are the Browns and Ohio State.

Douglas Kukura OLMSTED FALLS » CROSS COUNTRY SENIOR

On the course: Finished in ninth place at the Southweste­rn Conference meet with a time of 17:43.4. He was also named to the All-SWC team.

Off the course: “Doug” has been running cross country since seventh grade. His favorite sports memory occurred two years ago when he lost his shoe at the beginning of the Tiffin Carnival but managed to finish the race. He’s a student pilot and is hoping to earn his private pilots license by the start of the summer.

On the court: Recorded 33assists and seven digs in the Sailors’ two games last week

Off the court: “Hal’s” favorite sports team is the Cleveland Indians. Her favorite food is spaghetti and her favorite movie is Grown Ups.

Olivia Bird BAY » CROSS COUNTRY SENIOR

On the course: Finished in third in the Great Lakes Conference meet on Oct. 17 with a time of 20:03. The Rockets also won the GLC girls championsh­ip.

Lindsey La Pinta OLMSTED FALLS » VOLLEYBALL SENIOR » LIBERO

On the court: Played in the Bulldogs wins over Avon and Avon Lake last week, recording four kills, 49digs, 9assists, four aces and 28service points.

Off the court: “Lindo” will be continuing her academic and athletic careers at Bowling Green next fall. She also is on the Bulldogs’ gymnastics and track and field teams and her favorite sports memory is playing alongside her best friends in high school.

Will Warren BAY» CROSS COUNTRY SENIOR

On the course: Last weekend, Warren won the Great Lakes Conference title along with the GLC’s MVP award. He won the conference with a time of 16:14.

Off the course: While Warren has yet to make a college decision, he’s hoping to run collegiate­ly wherever he goes while majoring in forestry or environmen­tal science. When he’s not running, he enjoys hiking, camping and snow skiing.
