Two injured, drugs recovered after home invasion
The Lorain Police Department is investigating a home invasion that led to a person getting shot and two sent to the hospital Nov. 19.
Just before 11 p.m., Lorain police officers responded to 1035 W. 18th St. for a report of a home invasion in which two masked men entered the residence with guns, according to a news release.
Officers did not receive a response from anyone inside the residence when they attempted to make contact.
However, officers saw evidence that suggested a robbery had taken place or could still be in progress.
The evidence also suggested that there an injured persons likely was inside the residence.
Officers entered, but the house was empty.
While inside, they saw evidence that a shooting had occurred.
Officers later learned that two victims of the home invasion were at Mercy Health - Lorain Hospital.
One victim suffered multiple, non life threatening gunshot wounds, while the other victim suffered minor injuries from being assaulted.
People affiliated with the house on scene refused to cooperate with the investigation, the release said.
Police later learned that two juveniles younger than the age of 12 were present when the home invasion and shooting occurred.
The Lorain Police Criminal Investigations Unit obtained a search warrant for the house and located a rifle, a handgun and a significant quantity of suspected narcotics and narcotic related equipment.
The Lorain Police Narcotics Unit was called to the scene.
Ultimately, police seized four firearms, approximately four and a half grams of suspected cocaine, 17 grams of suspected fentanyl, 50 grams of MDMA (ecstasy), and four and a half pounds of marijuana, the release said.
According to the Lorain County Auditor’s website, 1035 W. 18th St. is owned by Fast Runner Entertainment LLC.
Fast Runner Entertainment, as well as additional information on the auditor’s website, links this address to members of “Two Twin,” a local rap group from Lorain, the release said.
Evidence located during the search of the residence links known members of “Two Twin” to 1035 W. 18th St. as well, the release said.
There have been no arrests in the case.
This investigation is ongoing and charges could be filed at a later date.
