Man arrested on felony drug charges, warrant
Lorain Police arrested a 26-year-old man after an investigation on drug and weapons charges.
A Lorain man is facing felony trafficking and weapons charges following a month-long investigation.
Anthony L. Geiger II, 26, was arrested Nov. 23 at 1767 Oakdale Ave. on an outstanding warrant for trafficking in drugs, a fifthdegree felony, as well as a charge of having weapons while under disability, a third-degree felony, according to a news release from Lorain police.
At 7 a.m., the Lorain Police Narcotics Unit served a search warrant at the residence stemming from an investigation led by Detective Craig Payne.
Detectives recovered suspected marijuana, suspected fentanyl, suspected cocaine, a firearm, over $1,000 in cash and additional drug paraphernalia consi s t ent with drug trafficking, the release said.
Geiger has prior convictions for trafficking in drugs, aggravated trafficking in drugs and possession of drugs which prohibits him from possessing firearms, the release said.
The investigation is ongoing and Geiger could face additional drug trafficking charges.
The drug trafficking charges could have a juvenile/school specification attached due to the proximity of Geiger’s residence to Hawthorne Elementary School, at 610 W. 20th St.
Geiger is in the Lorain County Jail.
The Lorain Police SWAT
team, road patrol unit, K9 Unit and the Federal Bureau of Investigation assisted in serving the search warrant.
The investigation was initiated due to tips provided by citizens, as well as observations of officers working in the neighbor
hood, the release said.
