Pair arrested on felony charges in Lorain
Two people are facing felony charges following a traffic stop in Lorain on Jan. 12.
Mark R. Ostrander, 30, from Lorain, was charged with two counts of receiving stolen property, a second-degree felony, obstructing official business, a fifth-degree felony, reckless operation and driving under suspension, according to a police report.
Goldie Flint, 31, an Akron resident, was charged with obstructing official business and possession of meth, both fifth-degree felonies, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
At 6:41 a.m. an officer observed a 2020 gray Nissan move at a high rate of speed and fail to stop at the Pearl Avenue and East 28th Street intersection, making a left turn heading west onto 28th.
The officer eventually caught up to the vehicle on the 2800 block of Globe Avenue for a traffic stop, but the driver was out of the vehicle. The passenger, Flint, was the only one inside the vehicle.
The officer then learned the vehicle was stolen out of Akron and the license plate was stolen out of Stow.
The woman did not give the officer information on the driver and tried to walk away, but was detained. While in the police car, the woman continued to refuse to give officers information.
While searching the vehicle officers found a key ring and an envelope that belonged to Ostrander. They also found a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue and marijuana in the area that Flint was sitting, the report said.
Later in the day, officers did a followed up at Ostrander’s address, 1243 W. Erie Ave, and located him. He was immediately arrested due to having outstanding warrants.
Flint and Ostrander are being held at Lorain County Jail pending an appearance in Lorain Municipal Court.
