Manufacturing Sector Partnership virtual open house scheduled to be held Jan. 20
The Lorain County Manufacturing Sector Partnership is hosting a virtual open house from 1-1:45 p.m., Jan. 20, at Thogus Products, 33490 Pin Oak Parkway in Avon Lake.
The focus of this virtual event is to present local manufacturers with the purpose of the Lorain County Manufacturing Sector Partnership, its benefits, accomplishments and goals for 2021, according to a news release.
Recently, the Lorain County Manufacturing Sector Partnership was one of 12 recipients awarded a total of $2.5 million to develop workforce strategies with the goal of driving collaboration between local businesses, workforce professionals, education and training providers, and community stakeholders, the release said.
Grant funding will help support the operations of both new and existing Industry Sector Partnerships, according to the release.
This grant funding will support and expand the work of the Lorain County Manufacturing Sector Partnership.
During the virtual open house, members of the Lorain County Manufacturing Sector Partnership will openly share ideas on how they work together within the community to fill the skills gap and ways to recapture the costs associated with workforce development, according to the release.
This is a unique opportunity for local manufacturers to hear how members in the Lorain County Manufacturing Sector Partnership have collaborated in developing a pipeline to help fill the skills gap.
This initiative not only has helped the members of the Lorain County Manufacturing Sector Partnership, but area families and local economies, the release said.
Manufacturers are urged to register for this event to learn about resources to assist in workforce development, training and education and the benefits of joining the Sector Partnership.
