Lundy named president of regional NOACA board

At its January meeting, the Board of Directors of the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinati­ng Agency elected Lorain County Commission­er Matt Lundy as president for 2021.

Lundy has served on the NOACA’s board since 2015, according to a news release from the agency.

He is the current chair of the Board Executive Committee and has held positions as vice chair of the External Affairs Committee in 2018 and chairman in 2019, the release said.

NOACA, which conducts transporta­tion and environmen­tal planning for Northeast Ohio, elects board presidents to one-year terms.

Lundy is a graduate of Avon Lake High School and Lorain County Community College and holds a bachelor of science in human resource management from Friends University.

He has served as part of the Lorain County Board of Commission­ers as an elected county commission­er since November 2014.

Lundy also served as state representa­tive in Columbus from 2007-2015. During that time, he served on the Finance Committee, State & Local Government and was Chair of the Consumer Affairs & Economic Protection Committee.

“I am extremely honored to take on this role and I thank the NOACA Board of Directors for the opportunit­y,” Lundy said in the release. “NOACA is well positioned to help enhance the quality of life throughout Northeast Ohio.

“Together with our board of directors, staff, and stakeholde­rs, we are making a positive difference and will continue to work towards a vision that promotes and cooperativ­ely develops plans for safe, economical and environmen­tally sound transporta­tion for our regional growth and equitable future.”

“We welcome Commission­er Lundy as our new board president,” said Grace Gallucci, NOACA executive director and chief executive officer. “He embodies the spirit of community and brings talent, expertise and energy to the table.

“We are very fortunate to have him lead us this year to strengthen the region and help implement our projects and plans that will improve the quality of life in Northeast Ohio. We look forward to working with him in this new leadership capacity.”
