Rosemary Catherine Haas (Meyer), age 90, passed away peacefully at home, on February 13, 2021. Rosemary joins her husband, Earl H. “Monty” Haas, in eternal peace.

Rosemary and Earl were married October 21, 1955, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Amherst, Ohio, and were married 28 years.

They have four surviving children including Peggy Margaret R. Haas of NYC, Michael Henry Haas of Amherst, Donald Earl Haas of Amherst, and Roy Edmund Haas (Jenny) of Findlay, Ohio, and grandchild­ren Lauren Washington, Nick and Dillon Haas, and Haley, Brittney, and Bryan Haas.

Rosemary was born on December 12, 1930, in Cecil, Ohio, to parents Edmund and Margaret Meyer. She was the last surviving child in her family of siblings including Marie Socha, and Anthony, Robert, Edmund, David, and Donald Meyer.

Rosemary lived in Amherst, Ohio, for most of her life. She dedicated her life to working as a nurse in the Lorain County area and served for over 30 years. Rosemary earned her nursing license from Lorain County Community College in 1976. Always a character, Rosemary’s interests included bowling and golf, and she was involved with the Amherst F.O.E. 1442, VFW Post 1662, Lady’s Auxiliary, and garden clubs. Rosemary was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, and never missed an episode of Jeopardy. Rosemary’s family home was listed in the Amherst Historical Society, and she resided there most of her life. She was a life-long member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Amherst.

There will be a private family ceremony for Rosemary, with a memorial to follow at a later date.
