Baker Mayfield and wife say they saw UFO

“Almost 100%, Em and I just saw a UFO drop straight out of the sky on our way home from dinner,” he tweeted.

A quiet offseason for Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield got a wake-up call on March 2.

“Almost 100%, Em and I just saw a UFO drop straight out of the sky on our way home from dinner,” Mayfield tweeted. “we stopped and looked at each other and asked if either of us saw it... Very bright ball of light going straight down out of the sky towards Lake Travis. Anybody else witness this?”

Mayfield and his wife Emily live near Austin Texas in the offseason. As of 12:30 p.m. March 3, Mayfield’s tweet received 1,800 comments, 3,000 retweets and more than 29,000 likes.

Emily Mayfield did not leave her hubby stranded.

“I won’t lie,” she tweeted. “I’m typically not someone who buys into UFO talk. But all I know is... I saw something tonight that I have never seen. And I’m a little thrown off.”

Fans had fun with Mayfield’s tweet.

“I just don’t like my franchise quarterback having alien encounters in the offseason,” @reflog_18 tweeted. “You know where you don’t have UFO sightings? The film room. Why do you think you don’t hear Tom Brady going XFiles? He’s watching tape. I mean, cmon Baker.”

Another fan said he saw the same UFO and took it a step further.

“I believe you man BECAUSE I SAW IT TOO,” @Mikepolkjr rweeted. “In fact, they actually sent an urgent message to me telepathically.! They said you should sign a fair (but team friendly) 5 year extension that allows enough salary cap space to secure solid free agents while you’re here.”

Mayfield’s tweet does not say whether he received the same message.

Mayfield, the first player picked in the 2018 draft, is entering his fourth season with the Browns. Executive vice president of football operations Andrew Berry keeps hinting the Browns will pick up the fifth-year option of his rookie contract, but he won’t say it. Talk of a contract extension would follow that decision.

A wise entrepreneur already has a T-shirt to commemorate Mayfield’s sighting.

“Almost 100%, Em and I just saw a UFO drop straight out of the sky on our way home from dinner.” — Baker Mayfield, Browns QB

It comes from @GVartwork and shows a large brown football flying saucer hovering over a depiction of the city of Cleveland, including FirstEnergy

Stadium with the words “Cleveland football” appearing above the picture. Below the picture, in big, bold capital letters are the words “I want to believe.”

The best response might be the tweet sent by @murnasty7019

“I mean this has to be proof the Browns luck

has officially changed,” he tweeted. “Baker saw a UFO and didn’t get abducted by aliens. If this was 5 years ago our QB would be gone without a trace.”

But others responded to Mayfield’s tweet by saying they saw the same thing.

“I also live on Lake Travis and can confirm

that I saw floating lights over the lake last night,” Nastynvite tweeted. “I thought it was drones at first but they moved down so insanely fast it didn’t seem right. I also own a drone so I know how they move. This was something else.”

Stay tuned.
