Stephen P. Mihalak, Sr.
Stephen P. Mihalak, Sr., 78, of Sheffield Lake, Ohio passed away Friday, March 26, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was born May 11, 1942 in Pennsylvania to parents Stephen and Mary (nee Mader) Mihalak.
Stephen grew up in the town of Cranesville, Pennsylvania alongside his siblings Mike, Tom and Marilyn. Following his graduation from high school, he enlisted and proudly served in the US Army from 1961 through 1964. As a member of the Service Pistol Team, Stephen would travel all over the United States to numerous military bases. It was during this time that he was introduced to Patricia McLeod, whom he would marry in August 1964. Stephen began working as a Systems Analyst for Sperry Univac, which would later become part of the Unisys Corporation. He went on to Ford Motor Company as an electrician, retiring at age 70 in 2012 after 20 years of dedicated service.
Stephen enjoyed numerous outdoor activities including hunting, Trout fishing and target shooting. He also enjoyed tinkering on cars and watching vehicle racing, both Drag Racing and NASCAR. But mostly he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren daily and traveling to Pennsylvania to spend time with his siblings.
Stephen is survived by his loving children: Bruce (Becky) Mihalak, Tricia Mihalak and Donny (Nicole) Mihalak; cherished grandchildren: Tiffany (Mo), Samantha (Scott), Morgan, Griffin, Kara, Adrianna, Justice and Mason; beloved great granddaughter, Leila; and dear siblings: Mike (Sue) Mihalak, Tom (Carol) Mihalak and Marilyn (Doug) Fuller.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Patricia; son, Stephen Mihalak, Jr.; and his parents.
