Judith Ann Gilkeson

Judith Ann Gilkeson, 83 years of age, and a resident of Lorain, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, following a brief illness. She was born June 25, 1937 in Bicknell, Indiana. After graduation, Judith moved to Lorain where she had resided until her passing. She was a member of the New Apostolic Church in Lorain. Judith was employed as a STNA at Kingston of Vermilion as well as Lorain County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services, Inc. (LCDA). She was a member of the Oberlin VFW Ladies Auxiliary Survivors include her children, Gregory Gilkeson of Westerville, OH, Michael Gilkeson (Barbara) of Elyria, Georgene Simashkevich of Lorain, and Lee Etta Knox of Stuart, FL; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 16 ½ years, Gene Kirk Gilkeson on January 31, 1976; her brother, Howard M. Jackson; father, Benjamin Jackson, her mother, Hortense (nee Morris) and her stepfather, George Ison. Public visitation for family and friends will be held at Hempel Funeral Home on Sunday, April 11, 2021 from 2 pm until the time of service at 4pm. Burial will take place at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Lorain County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services, Inc.
