Arsie C. “Mr. Oakwood” Thompson, age 48, a lifelong resident of Lorain passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021. He was born on July 22, 1972 to Richard and Lounette (nee Glenn) Thompson.

He was a 1991 graduate of Southview High School. He worked for several years at MPW Industrial Services Inc. and also owned and operated the A & M Sports Bar also for several years.

Arsie enjoyed watching basketball, especially his favorite team the LA Lakers and playing darts. He absolutely loved and adored his children, wife, and entire family. He had a generous soul and was always there to help anyone in need.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Stephanie (nee Hayes) Thompson; children, Alexis, Carissa, Kendra, and A.J. Thompson; grandchild­ren, Saniyah Odens, twins, Lucila and Maleni Delgado, and Arsie Thompson III; twin brother, Richard Thompson, and Arthur Noble; sisters, Pearl Thompson, Kellie Glenn, and Pam and mother-inMassey; law, Mindy Hall.

Arsie was preceded in death by his father, Richard Thompson; and his mother, Lounette Thompson.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 from 2:00 -7:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, Ohio 44001. Private family interment will take place at a later date.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the funeral home will be following specific guidelines to ensure the safety of all visitors. We ask that you enter through our main entrance of the funeral center, please pay your respects to the family, and exit through our gathering center door. Face coverings are required, limited seating will be provided for the service to ensure that a six feet separation is maintained.
