Morning Journal softball player of the year watch list

From now through the end of the season, The Morning Journal will run a list of semifinalists for the high school softball player of the year award.

This year’s player of the year will be announced after the completion of the state tournament. Details will be released at a later date. Here is this week’s watch list, in alphabetical order. This list is subject to change weekly.

Lizzy Allen, Clearview:

In 60plate appearances is hitting .490with 25hits, six home runs, 26 RBI and 25 runs scored. In the circle has a 4.76ERA, 101strikeouts and eight wins in 83 innings.

Autumn Behlke, North Ridgeville: In 48plate appearances is hitting .535 with 23 hits and four home runs. In the circle has a 2.05ERA, five wins and 74 strikeouts in 47 innings.

Annika Bredel, Elyria Catholic: In 39 at-bats is hitting .744with ten home runs, 36 RBI, 38 runs scored and 14 stolen bases.

Lily Cassell, Keystone: In 120 innings has a 1.34 ERA with 20wins, 179strikeouts and an opponent’s batting average of .156. At the plate has three hits, four RBI and a home run in 16 plate appearances.

Jessica Chapman, Keystone: In 92 plate appearances is hitting .580 with a .611 on base percentage, 47 hits, 29 RBI, 38 runs scored, two home runs and 25 stolen bases.

Kayla Dykin, Avon: In 53 innings has a 1.05ERA with seven wins and 101 strikeouts. At the plate is hitting .451 with 17 RBI and 19 runs scored.

Madi Herrington, Keystone: In 84 plate appearances is hitting .629with 44 hits, 48 RBI, 33 runs scored and six home runs.

Kate Kastelic, Amherst:

In 123 innings has a 1.36 ERA with 130strikeouts and 18 wins. At the plate has a .381 average, 24 hits and 19 RBI in 63 at-bats.

Cassidy Kettleman, Amherst: In 80 at-bats is hitting .637with 51hits, ten home runs, 38 RBI, 12 stolen bases and 44 runs scored.

Leah Musall, Brookside:

Is hitting .576 with 40 hits, 31 runs scored, nine RBI and 16stolen bases. In the circle has nine wins with a 3.78 ERA and 144strikeouts.

Payton Regal, Wellington:

In 70at-bats is hitting .560 with 42 hits, 32 RBI, 32 runs scored and nine stolen bases. In the circle has a 2.48ERA through 872⁄3 innings with 12 wins and 99 strikeouts.

Larren Rounds, Firelands:

Is hitting .709with 22RBI and five home runs.

Kerrigan Williams, Keystone: In 90 plate appearances is hitting .602with 50 hits, 31 RBI, 44 runs scored, three home runs and 24 stolen bases.
