Business Expo returns
Event provides in-person networking opportunities
The city of Avon Lake in cooperation with the North Coast Chamber of Commerce welcomed back the eighth annual North Coast Business Expo on July 15, offering a chance for Avon Lake’s business community to connect and grow together.
The Expo moved to Ahern’s Banquet Center, 726 Avon Belden Road, after being held in recent years at Sprenger Health Care Systems’ Main Street Care Center.
It returned after being cancelled in 2020 due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
“The Business Expo presents a tremendous opportunity for our many local businesses, who have faithfully weathered the pandemic storm, to get reacquainted with consumers who are anxious to get back to normal life,” said Avon Lake Economic Development Director Ted Esborn. “We’re very happy to work with the North Coast Chamber to provide companies with a centralized venue to showcase their offerings and help grow their business.”
Joe Matuscak, director of marketing and development for The LCADA Way, is an annual attendee of the Expo and said it was great to be back once again.
“I think it’s wonderful,” Matuscak said. It’s great to see people in person again.
“There’s nothing like networking in person.”
Avon Lake Mayor Greg Zilka joined local businesses for an impromptu ribbon-cutting welcoming guests to the Expo and the opportunities to network and learn more about local businesses operating in the area.
“This is an incredible turnout with all kinds of interesting opportunities for you to walk around and meet some of your fellow businesses,” Zilka said. “Networking is an important part of what you’re going to do, and we appreciate your efforts.”
A portion of the proceeds from the event are being donated to Avon/ Avon Lake Community Resource Services, an organization dedicated to diminishing the impact of poverty and providing emergency food assistance through their pantry, and assistance with bills, utilities and other expenses for those in need.
