Petrona “Petra” Negron Rosario

Petrona “Petra” Negron Rosario, age 99, a resident of New Port Richey, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Haborwood Care Center in Clearwater Florida.

She was born July 22, 1922, in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico to the late Marcelo Rosario and Lorenza Orozco.

She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafts, gardening, dancing and listening to Spanish music as well as serving her church and family. Petra was known for serving food, sweets and coffee to anyone who came into her home.

Surviving are her sons, Jose Negron of Hudson, Florida, Alberto Negron of Mt. Gilead, Ohio and Richard Negron of Lorain, Ohio; daughter, Mary Peppler of Alabama; grandchildren, Richard Isaac (Tabitha) Negron, Elisha Negron, Crystal (Christian) Morales, Rachel (James) Sojka, Sergio (Jenna) Marcano and Micah Marcano; great grandchildren, Christian, Gabriel, Emily (Jack) Sanders, Micah, Selah, Joshua, Isabella, Ariana, Jasmin and Karina; great-great grandchild, Zoe; as well as her sisters, Francisca Rosario Orozco and Maria Rosario Orozco both of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Ernesto Negron Quinones in 2005; as well as her brothers, Francisco Rosario and Dando Rosario; and sisters, Marcelina Rosario, Bienvenida Rosario and Nicolasa Rosario.

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 12th from 2 – 6 p.m. and on Monday at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 12:00 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral & Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain.
