Sandra J. Barnes

Sandra J. Barnes, age 80, passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Southern Hills Nursing Home in Middleburg Hts., Ohio. She was born on October 22, 1940, in Lorain, Ohio to William F. and Eleanor I. (nee Heiden) Barnes.

Sandra was a 1959 graduate of Lorain High School. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for Ostendorf Morris, a commercial real estate company.

She enjoyed ballroom dancing at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio, interior design, and all art. She had a passion for all animals, especially bird watching. Sandra was a lifelong learner continuously educating herself, from stenography and court reporting to numerous other interesting topics.

Sandra had a huge heart and was always helping her out her neighbors by taking them to their doctors’ appointments and shopping. She was always there for everyone. She loved her beloved best friend, her cat Autumn, who will be with her forever. Even though Sandra was never married she considered all her pets her children.

She is survived by her brother, William F. Barnes Jr. ; and her nieces, Susan (Kent) Klingshirn, and Shelley DeAngelis.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, William F. and Eleanor I. Barnes Sr.; and her sister-in-law, Jeannine B. Barnes.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 18, 2021, from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. at the Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church, 3015 Meister Rd. Lorain, OH 44052. Inurnment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain.
