Robert Falkenstin­e age 74 of Lorain, Ohio passed away on November 25, at his home with his wife and daughter by his side, after courageous­ly facing the challenges of B-Cell lymphoma.

He was born on August 23, 1947, in Troy, New York to Jess and Helen (nee Hebblewhit­e) Falkenstin­e.

Bob was a 1965 graduate of Mount Vernon High School where he was class president and played on the football team. He went on to graduate from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, where he was on the lacrosse team. After graduation from Kenyon, he served a year as

Vista Volunteer in Pueblo, Colorado. He later continued his education, receiving his master’s degree in social work from Case Western Reserve University.

Bob worked as a clinical social worker for 40 years. He served as Director of Social Work Services at the former St. Joseph’s Hospital and retired from Firelands Counseling Center in Amherst as a therapist.

He cherished spending time with his family and adored his daughter and granddaugh­ter. He helped coach his daughter’s softball team for several years.

Bob loved golfing and following Cleveland sports teams. He enjoyed seeing many production­s at Playhouse Square in Cleveland and attending the Cleveland Jazz and Film Festivals each year. He loved summer vacations in Petosky Michigan. Bob was a history buff and continued to take courses in retirement.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Maureen (nee Curtis) Falkenstin­e; his daughter, Laura (Brad) Radziej; his granddaugh­ter, Ruthie Radziej, as well as his sisters, Sue (Jack) Beers, Nancy Falkenstin­e; and his brother-in-law, Jack (Beth Ann) Curtis.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jess and Helen Falkenstin­e.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
