Dominion seeking to award grants to nonprofit organizations
Dominion Energy Ohio recently announced it is soliciting project entries from area nonprofit organizations to compete for $110,000 in Community Impact Award Grants.
Deadline for submitting online entries is 5 p.m., Dec. 31.
Dominion Energy, through the Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation, will award $110,000 in unrestricted grants to area nonprofits that have made a difference in the communities the company serves, according to a news release. The grants are offered through the 27th annual Community Impact Awards competition, sponsored by Dominion Energy and Cleveland Magazine.
Since 1996, the program has awarded more than $1.9 million in Community Impact Award grants.
The awards recognize community organizations that have made major contributions toward the economic and social revitalization of communities located in Dominion Energy’s Ohio service area.
For example, PCs for People, last year received $10,000 for its Closing the Digital Divide: Pandemic Relief Initiative, which provides computers, internet access and digital literacy training to low-income families with students in kindergarten through 12th grade in Cleveland, the release stated.
Entries will be judged by a group of community leaders from Dominion’s service area, and winners will be recognized in a 2022 issue of Cleveland Magazine. To prepare their nominations, prospective applicants can refer to the award guidelines and entry information available atwww. Dominion Energy. com, search: impact. The guidelines:
• Projects must have been completed between July 2020 and November 2021.
• Projects must have made a major contribution to the economic or social revitalization in our communities. • Projects must have made a major contribution to support diversity, inclusion, and equity in our communities. • Projects must describe how the COVID—19 pandemic has changed your ability to equitably make an impact in the community. • Projects must be located within the Dominion Energy service area in Ohio. • Organizations must be 501c (3).
