Joanne C. Baxter

Joanne C. Baxter (nee Snitch), 74 of Elyria, passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021. She was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. After her military service, she earned a degree in Computer Science from Lorain County Community College and worked in the IT/Tech field for many years. She then went back to school and because of her love for early child education, she earned a degree in that field and taught pre-schoolers for 10 years. Joanne loved volunteering at the Friendship APL, Elyria Hospitality Center, and Good Knights of Lorain County. She was also an active member of Poco Loco Line Dancers and a participant in the local OA. Above all, Joanne loved being a loving mother and

dedicated grandmother.

Joanne is survived by her husband of 30 years, Jeff Baxter; children, Sarah Speicher (Kendra Kostiha), Sue Kenney-Pfalzer (Joe Pfalzer), Rick Kenney (Kim), Heather Janes (Andrew), Heidi Baxter (Rene’ Herrera Medina) and Hadyn Baxter (Bethany Ames); 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and brothers, Ken Snitch (Vera) and Bill Snitch (Colleen).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Helen Snitch, and brothers, John Snitch and Donald Snitch.

The family will receive friends at the Wyers-Bollinger Funeral Chapel, 2900 N. Ridge Rd. E., Sheffield Twp. on

Sunday from 1-4pm and on Monday from 10-11am at which time the funeral service will begin. Burial will follow at Brookdale Cemetery.
