Mary Ann Shildwachter

Mary Ann Shildwachter (nee Madaras), 76, went to sleep peacefully on December 14, 2021. Mary Ann was born March 25, 1945 and was a lifelong resident of Lorain. She graduated from Lorain High School in 1963 and was a proud member of the Y-Hi Sweaters. She was married to Richard Shildwachter

for 49 years until his passing in January of this year.

Mary Ann was an avid gardener who took pride in her yard. She loved taking

the time to walk you through her yard and show her flowers. She was eager and willing to teach anyone who wanted to learn about gardening. She was also a successful antique business owner with a wonderful eye for detail. She took pride in her home and raising her children. Her home was her art canvas, and she was known for her decorating skills.

She is survived by her children: Wendy (Michael) Daniels, Nancy (Darwin) Penano, Zachary (Megan) Shildwachter, and Abby Miller. Grandchildren: Samuel (Stephanie) Moore, Seth & Max Daniels, Jake & Joe Penano, Christopher, Morgan, & Miles Miller. Great grandchildren: Sophie & Skylar Moore and brother, Rick Galbraith. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Elsie & Robert Galbraith, brother Steve Madaras, and sister, Karen Spencer.

Family will receive friends and loved ones on Tuesday, December 21st from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM. At 7:30 PM a prayer service and memorial will be held until 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, OH 44001

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a contribution to Genesis House, a local charity she loved to support, be made in her name.
