James “Jim” W. Ansell, 82, of Vermilion, died Friday, January 14, 2022 at Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness.

He was born April 5, 1939 in Barronsvil­le, PA and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 52 years moving from Sheffield Lake.

Jim worked for Ford Motor Co., Lorain as a Relief Man for 30 years, retiring in 1989.

He was a social member of the American Legion #397 and

VFW #7576. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, shooting pool, watching Westerns and the Steelers, and bowling with the Jet Set Senior League in Vermilion.

He is survived by his sons, Mark (Dana) Ansell of Vermilion, Michael (Pamela) Ansell of Taylorsvil­le, KY, and Matt (Kimberly) Ansell of Mt. Washington, KY; grandchild­ren, Seth, Monica, Malary, Shane, and Joshua Ansell; 7 great grandchild­ren; brother, Thomas Ansell; and his sister, Nancy Bowermaste­r.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancie Ansell in 2014; parents, Wesley John and Amanda Jane (nee Hostetler) Ansell; brothers, Bill and Barry Ansell and his daughter-in-law, Robin Ansell.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 4:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. The Reverend Rich Henry will officiate. Private inurnment will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
