Penfield Recreation­al Park plans social walking hours group dates

Step in a group at Summer Steps from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays from now until Sept. 27 at Penfield Recreation­al Park, 40756 State Route 18 in Penfield Township, according to a news release.

Meet at the pavilion closest to the road.

Summer Steps is a free way to get moving all summer long, presented by the Keystone Empowers You (KEY) collaborat­ive, the release said.

Every other week, local health profession­als and community leaders will share healthy living tips or community updates before the walk begins, the release related.

• June 28 — “Intro to Macros” — Barb Fortune, Certified Nutrition Coach at Fortune Health and Wellness

• July 12 — “The HumanAnima­l Bond” — Zachary Wildman, Veterinary Student at the University of Tennessee

• July 26 — “Tips on Choosing a Nursing Facility” — Heather Taras, admissions coordinato­r at Keystone Pointe

• Aug. 9 — “Emotional Freedom Technique” — Jennifer Rumancik

• Aug. 23 — Topic TBD — Mark Adams, Lorain County Public Health Commission­er

• Sept. 6 — Topic TBD — Rachael Duling, Penfield Park Board Member

• Sept. 20 — “Back to School” — Dan White, Keystone Local School District Superinten­dent

Participan­ts earn a free produce bag after attending 10 walks.

No membership or registrati­on is required and all ages and abilities are invited to join.

People are welcome to come to Summer Steps whenever they have time in their schedules; a weekly commitment is not necessary, the release related.

Penfield Recreation­al Park has a paved trail, hydration station and other amenities.
