A narcotics investigation turned up evidence that led to the arrest of two Gulf Road residents in Elyria.

The Elyria Police Narcotics Unit received multiple drug-related complaints, an Elyria police detective told the resident who lived in the 1100 block of Gulf Road as to the reason why he wanted permission to search the residence, according to a police report.

The man at the residence, Kevin Povlsen, 43, was wanted on a warrant from a July 8 incident when he was charged with possession of heroin and permitting drug abuse, both felony offenses, stated the report and Elyria Municipal Court records.

Povlsen granted three detectives and a sergeant permission to search the residence, the report stated.

The officers found several contraband items, including narcotics and related instruments, according to the report.

All seized drugs tested positive during procedures conducted at the Elyria Police Department following the search, the report stated.

During the raid, a 36-year-old woman who also resides at the home, Stephanie Price, 36, also was found in possession of narcotics, the report stated.

Price had multiple packages of fentanyl in the front pocket of her pants stored in a metal tin, the officer noted in the report.

Price was charged with possession of a controlled substance-fentanyl and drug paraphernalia, the report stated.

Both Povlsen and Price were in the Lorain County Jail following the search on the drug charges, the report stated.

Both were released from jail following hearings July 13 in Elyria Municipal Court, jail and court records show.
