University of Findlay graduates were recognized for earning degrees and were invited to walk in the University’s commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 7. 790 graduates earned doctoral, master’s, bachelor’s or associate degrees for the academic year 2021-2022. The office of Central Methodist University Provost Rita Gulstad announced recently the students included on the Spring 2022 Dean’s List.
Dylan Thomas Brister, of Elyria, was among those included on this semester’s list.
More than 900 students across all campuses and online learning met the requirements for placement, including a grade point average of 3.50 or higher for the semester.
Mercy College
The following students were awarded honors for the Spring 2022 semester at Mercy College of Ohio. To be named on the Dean’s List, a student must achieve a grade point average of 3.3 or higher and be enrolled for 12 or more credit hours.
To be named on the Honor’s List, a student must achieve a grade point average of 3.3 or higher and be enrolled for 6-11 credit hours. To be named on the President’s List, a student must achieve a 4.0 grade point average and be enrolled for 14 or more credit hours.

Baldwin Wallace University
Students from the area were among 24 Baldwin Wallace University students who took their learning off campus during the 2021-2022 academic year. With support from the BW Study Abroad Center’s Independent Study program, students created individualized immersion experiences in Austria, Denmark, England, France, Ireland, Scotland, Spain and Switzerland. The following local students participated:
Nina Braquet of Westlake, a graduate of Saint Joseph Academy majoring in biology and French, traveled to Paris, France for an individualized immersion experience with Mission Interuniversitaire de Coordination des Echanges Franco Americains (MICEFA). MICEFA is a consortium of universities in Paris and the surrounding region.
Poly Poulos of Westlake, a graduate of Westlake High School majoring in biology and French, traveled to Paris, France for an individualized immersion experience with Mission Interuniversitaire de Coordination des Echanges Franco Americains (MICEFA). MICEFA is a consortium of universities in Paris and the surrounding region.
Abby Widmer of Avon, a graduate of Elyria Catholic High School majoring in pre-allied health/pre-physical therapy, traveled to French Riviera, France for an individualized immersion experience with CEA French Riviera.
In the CEA program, students are immersed in a completely French language environment. All classes are held in French. Language classes focus on oral and written expression, language development and listening comprehension. Students can also choose from a wide variety of electives.
The BW Study Abroad Center engages students through global exploration and off-campus study that enhances personal growth, educational enrichment and career development as part of the university’s liberal arts effort to cultivate contributing and compassionate citizens. Through faculty-led and independent study abroad opportunities, students can build strong communication skills, enhanced critical thinking and personal confidence from trekking the unknown.
