Fisher-Titus Walking Path opens at Willard Reservoir
The city of Willard and Fisher-Titus held a ribboncutting July 10 for the new Fisher-Titus Walking Path at the Willard Reservoir, according to a news release.
The new concrete walking path is 2.32 miles around the Willard Reservoir,
2954 State Route 61.
The ADA standard path also will include 10 storyboards focusing on current health topics that will be added later this summer, according to the release.
“We are excited for this new path being available for our community,” said Bryson Hamons, Willard city manager, in the release. “The path will help promote healthy living in Willard and the surrounding communities by providing a place to exercise by running, walking, cycling, rollerblading and more.
“We are grateful to Fisher-Titus, local businesses and our community members for making an investment in the community and bringing this project to life.”
This collaboration was announced at the Willard Christmas tree lighting ceremony in November 2021.
In addition to support from Fisher-Titus, the project also was funded with donations from community members and local businesses.
Construction began in spring of this year and was completed by D.L. Smith Concrete of Norwalk.
“Supporting our community is core to FisherTitus and our position in the community as health and wellness leaders,” said Dr. Brent Burkey, president and CEO of Fisher-Titus, in the release. “It is our privilege to support our community by providing the right care, right here in our own community and through grants, sponsorships, donations, and school-based programs.”
