Larry Knoble, 105 years of age, and a resident of Tucson, AZ, passed away July 31, 2022, following a full and meaningful life.

He was born May 4, 1917, in Henrietta Township. Larry was raised and lived in Henrietta, graduating from Henrietta School with the class of 1936. He moved to Arizona in 2017 to be with family, where he had resided until his passing.

Larry was a United States Navy veteran having served his country

during WWII aboard the heavy cruiser USS Baltimore in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of the South Amherst American Legion. Larry was an active

member of Nativity Blessed Virgin Mary Church in South Amherst where he exercised his faith for many years volunteeri­ng wherever needed. He served his South Amherst community as Mayor of the village for two full terms and on the village council as well. He worked the majority of his life in the auto industry as a repairman, retiring from Sliman Chrysler Dodge in Amherst after forty-five years in the industry. In his spare time Larry invested in family playing games at gatherings, traveling with his wife around the country, or attending Cleveland Indians games.

Survivors include his children, Grace Ann Bousek of Albuquerqu­e, New Mexico, Lawrence Knoble, Jr. (Norma) and James Knoble (Diane) both of Wellington, Daniel Knoble (Susan) of Spring City, PA, David Knoble (Robin) of Tucson, AZ, and twelve grandchild­ren, seventeen great grandchild­ren, and three great great grandchild­ren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-four years, Elizabeth Ann (nee: Martin) on July 23, 1995; his grandson, Charles Knoble; his siblings, Daniel, Joseph, Francis and Virginia Siekeres; and his parents, Joseph and Grace Knoble (nee: Behringer) and son in law Ronald Bousek, and grandson in law Steven Paul.

Friends may call Thursday, August 11, 2022, from 4-8 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian

burial will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Nativity BVM Catholic Church, 333 South Lake Street, South Amherst.. Rebroadcas­ting of services will be available at www.hempelfune­ralhome.com . The Rev. Fr. Timothy O’Connor, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Amherst.
