‘Swans on the Lake’
Cleveland Ballet adds performance Aug. 27 at Waterwood Estate
Waterwood Estate in Vermilion will host “Swans on the Lake” with a program by Cleveland Ballet on Aug. 27, according to a news release.
Built in 1991 for the late inventor Don Brown and his wife, Shirley, Waterwood Estate boasts 38,000 square feet on 160 acres, the release said.
Sitting on the property’s vast amount of land are a private beach, marina and pier, said the release.
There are several agricultural amenities including a farmhouse and greenhouses as well.
This will be the first time a performance is held at the estate which was purchased by DeGeronimo Companies in 2020.
Cleveland Ballet will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. A cocktail hour starts at 6.
This performance comes in addition to Cleveland Ballet’s inaugural season in Vermilion with Harbourtown Fine Arts Center.
Founded in 2018 as a nonprofit organization, Harbourtown Fine Arts Center strives to make fine arts accessible in Vermilion through various classes and performance and exhibition opportunities, according to the release.
“Harbourtown Fine Arts Center is proud to welcome the Cleveland Ballet to their first summer residence in Vermilion,” said Jim Chapple, Harbourtown Fine Arts Center president, in the release. “The town is buzzing with excitement to have this amazing company performing in our community.”
The company will perform at Harbourtown Fine Arts Center’s Village Park at 7:30 p.m., Aug. 26, being preceded by a cocktail hour starting at 6, the release said.
While this will not be the first performance in Vermilion for Cleveland Ballet, this will be the first of their official summer residency, according to the release.
