Theater announces auditions April 13, 15

‘GODSPELL, 2012 Revised Version’ seeks diverse talent for cast

Actors are wanted. Auditions for “GODSPELL, 2012 Revised Version” will take place from 6-8 p.m., April 13, and from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Apr. 15, at St. Peter School, 3655 Oberlin Ave. in Lorain, according to a news release.

Sign-ups will begin March 9 at www.loraincommunitymusictheater.org.

The production team is searching for a diverse, inclusive and nontraditional cast, including creative, charismatic actors/singers who move well, according to the release.

Auditions are open to actors high school aged and older, the release said.

Those who want to audition should come prepared with 16-32 bars of an up tempo and ballad in the correct key, said the release.

For this show, musical theater and pop/rock songs would be appropriate.

An accompanist will be provided.

There will be no acapella or recorded music.

Actors must bring a head shot, resume and any conflicts, and also should be prepared to tell a joke, according to the release.

Video submissions are being accepted, the release said.

Performance dates are July 27-30 at the Lorain Performing Arts Center, 2600 Ashland Ave.

Production staff includes: Anthony Trifiletti, music director; Pamela Shirtz, choreographer; and Craig Koehler, producer, according to the release.

GODSPELL, 2012 Revised Version, is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI), the release said.
