Alla Boara brings ‘Ancient Roots’ to Stocker
Critically acclaimed for bringing new life to Italy’s diverse history of regional folk music with modern arrangements, Alla Boara continues the 2022-23 Studio Sessions Series with two nights of their multimedia performance, “Ancient Roots,” in Stocker Arts Center’s Cirigliano Studio Theatre, on the campus of Lorain County Community College.
The performances start at 8 p.m., March 24 and 25, at 1005 N. Abbe Road in Elyria.
Accompanying what Cleveland Magazine called “top-notch musicianship” with in-depth storytelling, “Ancient Roots” seamlessly weaves stories and visual animations with eclectic arrangements of Italian folk music, according to a news release.
Following the journey of famed ethnomusicologist, Alan Lomax, through the most rural parts of Italy, “Ancient Roots” celebrates tradition, using music to show audiences the common humanity in people, the release said.
