Agencies present Minds Matter for Mental Health Month

Erie County Community Foundation and the Alcohol, Drug Addiction & Mental Health Services (ADAMHS) Board of Erie County will present Minds Matter: free mental health screenings for May Mental Health Month, according to a news release.

The sessions will take place from 1-4 p.m., May 7, at BGSU Firelands, 1 University Drive in Huron; and from 9 a.m. to noon, May 16, at Firelands Regional Medical Center’s Mylander Conference Room, 1111 Hayes Ave. in Sandusky, the release said.

Sessions include free screenings for mental health and addiction problems and an “ask the doctor” segment to answer questions about behavioral health disorders with Dr. Linda Waters, assistant teaching professor of psychology at BGSU — Firelands, and Michelle Clinger, Ph.D., clinical director of Firelands Counseling & Recovery Service, according to the release.

The free screenings are sponsored by Bayshore Counseling Services, BGSU Firelands, Erie County Health Department, Family Health Services, and Firelands Regional Medical Center, the release said.
