Richard Molina, a beloved brother, uncle, and dear friend, died at the age of 68 on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain following a lengthy illness.

Born on June 16, 1955, in Amherst, Richard was a lifelong resident of Lorain. He graduated from Southview High School in 1974 and was a past member of the House of Praise Internatio­nal Church in Lorain.

Richard was passionate about attending various auctions, including auto and estate auctions. His greatest joy was spending quality time with his beloved family members. He was also an enthusiast for cars and classic cars.

Surviving are his dear siblings, Luis (Debra) Molina of Amherst, Nilsa (Luis) Martinez and Ellis Molina, both of Lorain, and several nieces and nephews.

Richard’s life was enriched by a dear friendship that spanned 56 years. Andrew “Grandpa” Mooney was a friend and a part of Richard’s family, sharing a home and a lifetime of memories together.

He is the loving son of Luis A. “Tony” Molina, who died in 2007, Edna M. Molina (nee Torres), who died in 2010, and his maternal grandmothe­r, Maria G. DelValle who died in 1992.

Services to honor and celebrate Richard’s life will take place at Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialist­s, 2701 Elyria Avenue in Lorain. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 22, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service from 1:00 PM. Rev. Gilbert Silva, pastor of House of Praise Internatio­nal, will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
