Painesville man pleads in shooting
A Painesville man has admitted shooting a Cleveland man in the arm.
Quinton Gaines, 33, pleaded guilty Aug. 22 in Lake County Common Pleas Court to felonious assault with a one-year firearm specification.
Gaines will be sentenced Sept. 19 by Judge Richard L. Collins Jr.
Gaines, represented by attorney Paul H. Hentemann, was indicted on charges of attempted murder, felonious assault and having weapons under disability.
According to Painesville police, Gaines shot the 31-year-old victim around 10 p.m. Oct. 21 in the 700 block of Mentor Avenue. The victim was taken to TriPoint Medical Center in Concord Township.
On Oct. 26, Gaines was named the Fugitive of the Week by the U.S. Marshals Service Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.
