Player to watch
Josh Corbin only knows one way to play: Physical. Even with a thumb injury, he has been a bull in preseason scrimmages, running the ball hard and dragging tacklers with him. He’s one of a handful of twoway starters, so keeping him healthy is important.
Underclassman to watch
Many of the starters are seniors, but the youngster to watch has to be junior RB/LB D.J. Griffus. The 5-10, 185-pounder fits right in with the defensive scheme of being quick and aggressive. When he’s running the ball, he has speed and toughness. He’s the bell-cow back of the future.
