Outlook: offense

-

The strength of this offense is being able to line up toe-to-toe with teams and run the ball. Don’t expect the air-it-out approach the Cougars took at times in recent years. This team’s colors are green and gray, but could be black and blue with its style of play. The line is young — only one starter returns — but big. Anthony Amata (5-10, 220) is the only returner, but he’s also one of the smallest guys up front. RBs Josh Corbin and Hunter Williams are battering rams who deliver a lot of punishment when they have the ball in their arms. Corbin is a threat to run for more than 1,000 yards. At some point, passes have to be thrown, though. Whether it’s Joey Stanzi or Jack Gibbons under center, the main target will be fleet-footed Darrius Alston. But ground control is the focus here.
