Chardon Twp. man faces drug charges
A Chardon Township man arrested Aug. 21 by Madison Township police faced a judge Aug. 22 in Painesville Municipal Court, according to records there.
Todd A. Tingler, 25, of 12357 Woodin Road, is accused of possessing heroin, a syringe and a spoon. He was arraigned on fifthdegree felony drug abuse, along with misdemeanor counts of possessing drug abuse instruments and possessing drug paraphernalia, his court file confirms.
If convicted of the felony offense alone, Tingler could receive up to 12 months behind bars. Tingler’s arraignment paperwork shows he’s free on a personal recognizance bond and has a pretrial/preliminary hearing scheduled Aug. 29.
Mentor man arraigned on charges
Police in Mentor arrested a city resident Aug. 20 who faced a judge Aug. 22 on two charges in Mentor Municipal Court, records there show.
Paul T. Torchik, 47, of 6595 Melshore Drive, was arraigned on fourth-degree felony disrupting public service and first-degree misdemeanor assault, according to his file.
If convicted of the felony alone, he faces up to 18 months behind bars.
Torchik is free on a $6,000 personal recognizance bond and has a pretrial/preliminary hearing Aug. 29, the docket confirms.
Man arraigned on stalking charges
A Painesville man accused of violating an antistalking protection order in Fairport Harbor Village appeared before a judge Aug. 22 in Painesville Municipal Court, records there show.
Michael L. Johnson, 51, of 176 Chestnut St., was arraigned on three fifthdegree felony charges of violating an anti-stalking protection order, his file states.
If convicted on all three counts, Johnson could receive up to three years’ confinement.
He’s free on a personal recognizance bond and faces up to three years behind bars of convicted on all three counts.
Woman faces drug charges in Mentor
An Eastlake woman arrested Aug. 20 in Mentor was arraigned Aug. 22 in Mentor Municipal Court, records there confirm.
Linda E. Marett, 44, of 1263 E. 340th St., is charged with fifth-degree felony heroin possession and one first-degree misdemeanor count each of petty theft and possession of clonazepam and a second-degree misdemeanor count of obstructing official business, according to court records.
If convicted of the felony count, Marett faces up to 12 months’ confinement.
She’s being held on a $35,000/10 percent cash/ surety bond.
Marett has a pretrial/ preliminary hearing set for Aug. 29, legal documents state.
Geneva man faces felony charges
A Geneva man arrested by police in Madison Township in connection with a July 12 incident appeared Aug. 22 in Painesville Municipal Court, according to court records.
Daniel F. Lewis, 37, of 2324 N. County Line Road, was arraigned on one fourth-degree and one fifth-degree felony count of receiving stolen property and is free on a personal recognizance bond pending his Aug. 29 preliminary hearing, his arraignment paperwork states.
If convicted, Lewis faces up to 2 ½ years’ confinement.
Man arraigned on robbery charge
A Painesville man arrested by Lake Metroparks rangers was arraigned on a felony robbery count Aug. 22 in Painesville Municipal Court, court files confirm.
Ramone L. Robertson, 25, of 192 Mathews St., faces second-degree felony robbery and is being held on a $50,000/10 percent cash/surety bond, his arraignment paperwork shows.
If convicted, Robertson faces up to eight years behind bars. A preliminary hearing is Aug. 29.
