2017 fish fry dinners

The following are some of the fish fry dinners open to the public planned in The News-Herald coverage area.

Lake County

• St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 9925 Johnnycake Ridge Road in Concord Township, will host the 18th annual Friday fish fry beginning March 3 and continuing through April 7 in the school MPR and Gym.

Doors open at 5 p.m. and dinners will be served until 7:30. The fish fry offers dine-in, all-you-can-eat fish for $14 for adults; $6 for child’s portion (ages 6-12) and free for children age 5 and younger.

The menu includes baked and battered cod, breaded shrimp, homemade seafood chowder, and kid-friendly fare such as macaroni and cheese, pizza, pasta, and a variety of side dishes and desserts. There is a carry-out menu and an a la carte menu.

• VFW Post 7754, 540 New St. in Fairport Harbor, will host fish fry lunches and dinners every Friday through Lent.

Lunch is served 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and dinners will be served 4 to 7 p.m. Meals include a choice of perch or shrimp.

• Mentor Headlands AMVETS Post No. 40 Ladies Auxiliary, 9141 Jordan Drive in Mentor, will host the annual fish fry 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., March 7, 10, 24, and 31, and April 7, 14 and 21.

The dinners are open to the public, dine in or carry out. Curb side pick-up service will also be available.

• Painesvill­e Knights of Columbus, 987 Mentor Ave., will host the fish fry March 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31, and April 7 and 14.

The dining room is open from 5 to 7:30 p.m., and carry-out is available from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. in person or by calling 440352-4600.

Available dinners include deep fried lightly breaded Lake Erie yellow perch, walleye, shrimp, perch and walleye combos, and perch and shrimp combos. All dinners include freshcut french fries, cole slaw, bread and butter, coffee, and milk. Also available are side dishes of macaroni & cheese, clam chowder, and homemade desserts. A children’s menu is available.

• Cleveland Elks Lodge No. 18, 38860 Mentor Ave. in Willoughby, will host dinners, 5:30 to 8 p.m. Fridays during Lent.

Choices are walleye, lake perch, cod, shrimp, seafood cakes and steak dinners. All dinners include clam chowder, coleslaw and choice of potato or macaroni and cheese.

Menu prices are $8 to $15 with kids meals and weekly specials available. For details, call 440-9422747.

• VFW Post 1500, 38295 Pelton Road in Willoughby, will host a fish fry 5 to 8 p.m. Fridays during Lent, March 3 through April 14.

Choices are perch, pollock, walleye, salmon, catfish, shrimp, and breaded clams. Fresh clam chowder is also available.

Prices range from $6.50 to $13.50, and all food is cooked to order.

• St. Mary Catholic Church Chardon, 401 North St., will host the annual fish fry 4:30 to 7 p.m. Fridays during Lent except on Good Friday.

The all-you-can-eat dinners will be served in the banquet room and the cafeteria. Take-out is available.

Cuyahoga County

•The Irish American Club East Side Inc., 22770 Lakeshore Blvd. in Euclid, will host the Lenten fish fry dinners March 3, 10, 24 and 31, and April 7 and 14.

The dinners will be served 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and will offer a choice of perch, baked cod, beer battered cod or shrimp dinners. All will be served with french fries, mac and cheese, coleslaw and dessert. Adult dinners are $11 and children’s portions will be $6 Doors open at 5 p.m. and there will be music each week.

• Ss. Robert and William Parish, 367 E. 260th St. in Euclid, will host the annual Lenten fish fry, on Fridays, March 3 through April 7.

Dinners will be served 4:45 to 6:45 p.m. The allyou-can-eat dinners cost $12 for adults or $6 for children ages 12 and younger. Homemade pierogis and a la carte items will also be available.
