(3) EUCLID VS. (1) MENTOR

What: Division I district final

Where: Perry, 1 Success Blvd., Perry When: 7 p.m., March 2

Records: Euclid 16-8, Mentor 18-7

On deck: Winner advances to a regional semifinal at 6:15 p.m. on March 7 in Canton against the winner of Stow-Munroe Falls and Canton McKinley

For the record: This was the matchup pretty much everyone envisioned. It’s the season rubber match, too. Euclid beat Mentor by one on the Cardinals floor this season, and the Cardinals beat the Panthers by one on their home floor. This is also a rematch of last year’s district final, won by Euclid . ... Euclid got a monster game from senior Rayjon Harris, who had 26 points, 14 rebounds and seven blocks in a one-point semifinal win over Brush . ... Mentor pulled away late for an 11-point win over North in their district semifinal. Nicole Heffington, the team leader all season, led the team with 18 points. ... Euclid’s key is for somebody besides Harris to be a scoring threat . ... Mentor’s key is not to let Harris go wild and score at will.

Kampf’s pick: Euclid

(1) PERRY VS. (5) NDCL

What: Division II district final

Where: Lakeside, 6600 Sanborn Road, Ashtabula When: 7 p.m., March 2

Records: Perry 22-2, NDCL 13-11

On deck: The winner advances to a regional semifinal at 6:15 p.m. on March 8 in Barberton against the winner of Laurel and Hathaway Brown.

For the record: Both teams are going for some school history here. The Pirates haven’t been to the regional tournament since 2003-2004, and it’s been even longer for the Lions. ... Summer Salem was the hot hand in NDCL’s district semifinal win over Harvey. She hit six 3-pointers in her 18-point game. But the big story for the Lions was their defense, holding the third-seeded Raiders well below their average in a 50-30 victory . ... Perry is going for a school-record 23rd win. It was Anna Sorine’s 18 points that led the team in the semifinal win over West Geauga. Normally, it’s Claire Dolan and Jordan Schiano leading the team in scoring. NDCL will have to control point guard Ellie Frazier and forward Emily Holroyd as well . ... Perry won the first meeting early in the season, 52-18, so the Pirates are the heavy favorite. Kampf’s pick: Perry

Kampf’s record: 31-5
