If you still have taste for St. Paddy’s, try Hooley House

-

If the recent St. Patrick’s day got your mouth watering for even more Irish food, consider a visit to Hooley House in Mentor, where recently debuted menu items will remain around for a while.

At the corner of Route 306 and Tyler Boulevard, it’s close for lots of folks and its name is the Irish one for “party.” The Irish spuds, for instance, are potato skins filled with corned beef and sauerkraut and topped with melted Swiss cheese and Hooley sauce.

Even St. Patrick would sit up and take notice of the glazed maple bacon — a cup of thick and crispy bacon candied with maple glaze. The restaurant’s bowls include one with mashed potatoes, Guinness gravy, mushrooms and onion straws, while the Hooley Cuban layers corned beef slices with pulled pork, ham, Swiss cheese and pickle pressed in a Hoagie bun slathered with Dijon mustard and mayo.

There’s lots more, but these menu items will surely prompt a visit.
